As a result of HB 20-1128 and HB 20-1312, educators, administrators, and certified educators must complete a minimum of 10 contact hours of training in special education and behavioral health, with at least one (1) hour in special education or behavioral health.  This is a recurring requirement for licensure renewal and will need to be completed during each 7-year licensure renewal cycle for all administrators and licensed certified teachers. The SVVS special education team has designed a series of modules from which to choose topics that are the most relevant and meaningful for your building’s/department’s needs and goals.  Modules are designed to take anywhere from 15 minutes to 90 minutes with a Check for Understanding activity after each presentation.
