Meet the Principal
Principal Andrew Moore is excited to serve as the founding principal of Colliers Hill Elementary and to help build a school community from the ground up.
Principal Moore has spent more than 25 years in education as a teacher, instructional specialist, camp director, and school leader. Most recently, he served for 13 years as principal of Lyons Elementary, where he worked alongside students, staff, and families to build a strong school culture centered on relationships, meaningful learning, and a strong connection to community. Earlier in his career, he served as principal of Flagstaff Academy in Longmont (5 years) and taught students from kindergarten through eighth grade in a variety of settings.
Andrew believes great schools are places where students are known, challenged, supported, and excited to come each day. He is especially energized by the opportunity to build Colliers Hill Elementary together with its future students, families, staff, and community – creating the traditions, culture, and sense of belonging that will make the school uniquely its own.
Andrew and his family have called Colorado home for many years. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time outdoors, working on projects, and finding any reasonable excuse to wear a bow tie.

About Colliers Hill Elementary
Colliers Hill Elementary welcomes you to a place of meaning, learning, and belonging, where students will build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make a difference in the world around them. We embrace St. Vrain Valley Schools’ Futures By Design framework, which develops Durable Skills through experiences such as Design Thinking. Students will build connections between their learning, their community, and the world beyond school, helping them apply strong academics to meaningful questions, challenges, and opportunities. As a neighborhood school, we want students to see their community not only as the place they live, but as a place to learn, contribute, and build relationships. Founding students and families will have the unique opportunity to help shape traditions, partnerships, and experiences that will define our school for years to come.
Rigorous Academics
Colliers Hill Elementary will offer rigorous, high-quality instruction grounded in St. Vrain Valley Schools curriculum. Students will develop strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies while also experiencing art, music, physical education, STEM, and library. Strong knowledge and essential skills will provide the foundation students need to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and tackle increasingly complex problems. Across subjects, students will have opportunities to connect their learning and apply what they know to authentic questions, challenges, and opportunities.
Engaged Students
Students at Colliers Hill Elementary will be active participants in their learning and increasingly capable of using what they know with purpose. Through Futures By Design experiences, students will use Design Thinking to ask questions, learn from community members, generate ideas, create and improve solutions, seek feedback, and learn from both successes and mistakes. They will set meaningful goals and develop an increasing awareness of themselves as learners, able to communicate what they are learning, why it matters, and the strategies that help them succeed. Before- and after-school enrichment will provide additional opportunities to explore interests, develop talents, build friendships, try new things, and discover new strengths.
Strong School Culture
At Colliers Hill Elementary, belonging will be a foundation for both learning and contribution. Students will know that they matter to their teachers, classmates, and broader community and that their ideas, actions, and perspectives can make a difference. Collaboration, communication, empathy, creativity, reflection, and problem solving will be skills students learn and practice as part of everyday school life. Families and community members will be valued not only as supporters of our school, but also as partners in student learning. Together, we will build a neighborhood school where children learn to know themselves, work with others, and contribute with confidence and purpose.

Project Design Background
Colliers Hill Elementary is a PK-5 neighborhood school and will be located on a 10-acre site in the heart of the Colliers Hill community, with careful attention given to the site’s natural topography. The building uses multiple levels, connected by ramps, to respond to the land’s natural slope.
Inside the building, the design and organization of spaces were shaped by the needs of elementary and preschool students. Classrooms are organized into grade-level groups alongside flexible areas for dynamic group work, specialized learning, and student support. The academic areas connect to shared spaces, including the library, gymnasium, music and art rooms, makerspace, and cafeteria. At the center of the building is a central stair and gathering space, known during the design process as the “Heart,” which connects the different areas of the school and provides a shared space for students and staff. The preschool program is located at the north end of the building and includes dedicated access and an outdoor play area.
The exterior of the building is designed to complement the Colliers Hill community while serving as a neighborhood anchor. Masonry, metal panels, and expansive windows create a simple material palette, while a signature curved roof marks the school’s main entrances. The design also prioritizes energy efficiency, with an emphasis on thermal performance to reduce heating and cooling needs.
Attendance Boundary
The Board approved Scenario A as the attendance boundary for Colliers Hill Elementary. This scenario uses the Colliers Hill neighborhood boundaries as a starting point and County Road 12 as the northern boundary.
The decision followed a thorough review of community feedback, housing growth projections, walkability, and transportation access. The approved boundaries support balanced enrollment across the region and provide room for continued growth. Please view the interactive boundary map to see the approved boundaries.
Enrollment Information
Students who reside within the new Colliers Hill Elementary boundaries are scheduled to attend Colliers Hill Elementary beginning in the 2027-28 school year. Families who wish for their student to remain at their current school may do so through open enrollment, a process that allows students to attend a school outside their assigned boundary if space is available. All Erie schools will have space available for open enrollment next year and St. Vrain offers a wide variety of exceptional schools so every family can find the best fit for their student’s interests and learning style. Families who do not submit an open enrollment request during this window will be reassigned to Colliers Hill Elementary for next school year.
Additionally, families who do not reside within the Colliers Hill Elementary boundaries but would like to enroll are welcome to submit an open enrollment application.
The open enrollment window is Dec. 1-15, 2026. Please visit svvsd.org/openenrollment for instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions
How will families stay informed throughout this process?
Families who are interested should sign up to receive communications through the ParentSquare mailing list. Multiple communication channels will be used, including email, newsletters, and community meetings. A dedicated website will launch winter 2027.
What is the school's branding identity?
Thank you to all of our community members who shared feedback regarding the proposed boundaries, school name, and mascot for the new PK-5 in Erie’s Colliers Hill neighborhood. We appreciate the thoughtful input from families, staff, and community members throughout this process. Following approval at the Oct. 14 Board of Education meeting, St. Vrain Valley Schools is pleased to announce that our newest school in the Erie feeder system has officially been named Colliers Hill Elementary, with a mascot of the Foxes. School colors are navy blue and bright yellow with sage green, plum, and sky blue accent colors.
Who will be involved in shaping the school's culture and programs?
This fall, a teacher leadership team will be formed to help define the school’s mission, vision, and instructional philosophy.
