This year, New Teacher Orientation will be at Longmont High School on Thursday, August 6th and August 7th, and then will be extended and personalized learning through a day at our Teach to Reach conference on August 10th at Longmont High School. This conference promises to be an invaluable experience, providing you with insights, strategies, and connections that will support your growth and success in the classroom.
The purpose of our time together is to equip you with the knowledge and tools to start your year and lay the groundwork for professional success. Topics presented will include district curriculum and resources, supporting multilingual learners in St. Vrain, and developing protocols and procedures to manage your classroom for success. Sessions are differentiated by grade level, content area, and years of experience. We ask that you arrive on time for each session. If you are unable to attend a session or day, please notify your building principal and contact Amy Magyar in the Office of Professional Development via phone at 303-702-8252 or email at magyar_amy@svvsd.org.
If you have any dietary restrictions, please contact Amy Magyar as soon as possible so she can plan accordingly.
There are also several water bottle refill stations throughout the building, so feel free to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated during the day.
Here’s what you can expect during NTO and the Teach to Reach conference:
Day 1 – August 6th, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Location: Longmont High School (1040 Sunset Street, Longmont, CO 80501)
- Doors open at 7:30 AM
- Breakfast with your principal provided to kick off the day at 7:45-8:15 AM
- New Teacher Keynote and Prizes with Dr. Kapushion and Dr. Lauer 8:30-9:30 AM
- Induction Cohort Meeting 9:45-10:15
- Breakout Sessions 10:30-11:30
- Lunch provided by SVVEA 11:30-12:15
- Session 2 12:15-1:15
- Session 3 1:30-2:30
- Closure with Prizes 2:30-3:00
Day 2 – August 7th, 8:00 AM -3:30PM
- Location: Longmont High School (1040 Sunset Street, Longmont, CO 80501)
- Arrival between 7:45 AM-8:00 AM for a light provided breakfast
- NTO Sessions
- Grab and Go Lunch provided by OPD 12:15-12:45
- Travel to your building 12:45-1:00
- Time in your building with your principal 1:00-3:30
Day 3 – August 10 th, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM Teach to Reach Conference
- Location: Longmont High School (1040 Sunset Street, Longmont, CO 80501)
- Arrival between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM for a light breakfast

On August 6 and 7, you will receive an individualized schedule at the sign in table. Kindly keep an eye on your St. Vrain district email for further details on selecting and signing up for your August 10 Teach to Reach conference sessions. The Teach to Reach conference uses a platform called Sched. Oftentimes, Sched emails are routed to Spam, so please check your Spam folder regularly this summer.
Your attention to this schedule is crucial for ensuring that you are prepared to attend the conference. You must have a device to participate in the conference. Your phone or district-issued iPad or laptop will be suitable for the activities.
