1. Inventory will be updated twice a year, by the Science Lead, utilizing the Chemventory software provided by the District. 

  • Mid-Year – In December update the current chemical inventory and submit to the Assistant Principal (AP). Request any waste disposal needs to the Environmental Compliance Manager, and review Chemical Procurement Procedure prior to ordering any new chemicals. 
  • End of the Year – In May update the current chemical inventory and submit to the AP. Request any waste disposal needs to the Environmental Compliance Manager, and review Chemical Procurement Procedure prior to ordering any new chemicals. 

2. User Permissions 

Administrator – Update site inventory, print labels and invite new users and change roles 

  • High School Science Safety Lead 
  • Middle School Science Safety Lead 
  • District Environmental Compliance Manager 
  • District Science Coordinator 

Normal User – Update site inventory and print labels 

  • Science Staff 

View Only – View inventory 

  • School Administration 
  • School Janitorial Staff 
  • District Security & Emergency Management Director 
  • Assistant Superintendent of O&M 
  • Health Department Representative 
  • Local Fire Department 

3. The Flinn Chemventory System

  • Create log in using assigned activation key 
  • Click “Add Chemical or Kit” to add materials 
  • Update SDS book with any new chemicals added to inventory
