Developmental & Health Screenings
Preschool students have the opportunity to participate in voluntary developmental and health screenings. These screenings help staff identify each student’s strengths and gather information to support individual learning, health and developmental needs.
Parent/guardian consent must be obtained before a student participates in any screening. Screening results are confidential and should be shared only with the student’s family and appropriate staff. If concerns are identified, staff should provide the family with information about available resources, referrals and support services.
Developmental Screenings
New preschool students may participate in developmental screenings that assess areas such as social-emotional, cognitive and language development. School staff are responsible for coordinating screening opportunities and communicating relevant information to families.
Annual Vision, Hearing and Dental Screenings
Preschool students may participate in annual vision, hearing and dental screenings. Vision and hearing screenings are provided through the St. Vrain Valley Schools Health Services Department. Dental screenings are provided in partnership with the Sunshine Club. Staff should follow district procedures for obtaining consent, coordinating screenings and communicating results to families.
