St. Vrain Valley Schools students who have demonstrated strong academic achievement are now eligible to receive a direct admission offer from the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) through a new partnership between the district and the university.
Under the agreement, current St. Vrain juniors and seniors who have earned a weighted 3.0 GPA or higher will receive a direct admission offer from CU Denver without first submitting a traditional application. The partnership recognizes students’ academic accomplishments and provides another postsecondary option for those considering a four-year degree.
“Our students work hard to meet rigorous academic expectations throughout their time in St. Vrain,” said Superintendent Jackie Kapushion. “We appreciate CU Denver’s recognition of their achievements and the opportunities this partnership provides for students who choose to pursue a four-year degree.”
The partnership reflects St. Vrain’s continued commitment to preparing students for success after high school through rigorous academics, Advanced Placement courses, concurrent enrollment, and career-connected learning opportunities.
“Students who challenge themselves academically should be able to see a clear path to college,” said CU Denver Chancellor Kenneth T. Christensen. “This partnership with St. Vrain recognizes that hard work. At CU Denver, we are committed to making higher education accessible, attainable, and connected to students’ goals.”
The agreement is effective immediately and applies to the current cohort of St. Vrain juniors and seniors who meet the eligibility requirements.
