Following a highly competitive application process, Strock was one of just 60 educators selected nationwide to participate in the prestigious professional learning opportunity, which is co-sponsored by Street Law, Inc. and the Supreme Court Historical Society. More than 1,300 secondary social studies educators have attended the institute and its seminars since the program began in 1995, creating a network of educators who bring innovative approaches to teaching about the U.S. Supreme Court into their classrooms.

During the weeklong institute, Strock participated in professional learning focused on recent U.S. Supreme Court cases, constitutional law, and civic education. Alongside educators from across the country, she learned from legal experts and attorneys with Supreme Court experience, observed Supreme Court proceedings firsthand, toured the U.S. Supreme Court and other historic government institutions, and explored classroom strategies that make constitutional law and civic education engaging for students.

“I learned strategies to implement moot courts, student law firm and judicial nomination simulations, and many other teaching strategies that will make this branch of government come alive for my students at Skyline High School,” said Strock.
