Dear St. Vrain Valley Community,
It has been an outstanding start to the academic year and I want to thank our students, families, teachers, staff and other partners for continuing to support St. Vrain Valley Schools’ drive for excellence in serving our community and advancing public education.
We are pleased to offer District families a preschool experience designed to enhance kindergarten readiness at each of our St. Vrain elementary schools and some community partner sites. The purpose of the District Preschool Program is to provide a high-quality early childhood experience for our youngest learners in a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment. We believe family partnership’s are vital to a student’s success in our program. Ongoing opportunities for parent involvement are offered throughout the school year and strongly encouraged.

In supporting our main goal of student preparedness for kindergarten, we offer a quality early childhood experience that focuses on a standards-based curriculum in all developmental areas. Our district utilizes the State approved Creative Curriculum, an emergent curriculum that creates an environment which supports learning through play and discovery in a variety of interest centers. It also guides the teaching staff in offering small and large group activities intentionally planned to promote each student’s development and learning to meet all State Academic Standards. Student progress is observed and documented through the Teaching Strategies GOLD Assessment system in all developmental and content areas.
