Baritone Choir Conductor – William Ecker
A man with glasses and a goatee wears a blue suit and white shirt, standing outdoors against a blurred background.

William Ecker is in his 18th year of teaching choir in Colorado, and is currently establishing a new choral program at Timnath Middle High School. Prior to his work at Timnath, Mr. Ecker served as the choral director at Fort Collins High School, where his ensembles consistently earned superior ratings at CHSAA festivals statewide. Under his leadership, students were regularly selected for the Colorado All-State Choir in record numbers.

Mr. Ecker earned his Bachelor of Music Education with a vocal emphasis from the University of Northern Colorado in 2008, and later completed a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting and coursework for a Master’s in Music Education in 2016, studying under Dr. Galen Darrough, Dr. Jill Burgett, Dr. Russel Guyver and Dr. Mark Montemayor.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Ecker taught at Weld Central Middle School, where he grew the choir program from 35 to 225 students over six years. In 2013, he became a founding board member of the Colorado Middle School All-State Choir. He has continued to serve the broader choral community in Colorado in several capacities, including as co-chair of the Colorado Middle School All-State Board and as Onsite Coordinator for both the High School and Middle School All-State Choirs.

Mr. Ecker resides in Greeley, Colorado with his wife, Julie, and their five-year-old daughter, Molly and new baby, Elizabeth. Outside of teaching, he enjoys woodworking, home improvement projects, and playing hockey at the Greeley Ice Haus.

Baritone Choir Accompanist – Scott Hamlin

Scott began taking piano lessons at a young age and continued through high school. He realized in the 7th grade, when he chose to continue practicing instead of “coming to dinner”, that he had a talent and love for music. His father was a choral conductor, and Scott began accompanying his choirs during his middle school years.  Later, he obtained his undergraduate degree in church music and vocal music education, and his graduate degree in conducting.

Scott has directed the music programs in several churches from Oregon to Southern California to the Bay Area, and then to Colorado. He also served as the Artistic Director of the Longmont Chorale from 2007 – 2023.

Since 2003, Scott has also been an accompanist for the St. Vrain Valley School District, where he has been privileged to work with teachers and students from Sunset Middle School, Silver Creek High School, Niwot High School, Coal Ridge Middle School, Soaring Heights PK-8, Thunder Valley K-8, and Erie Middle School.

Scott and his wife of 45 years are the proud grandparents of six granddaughters and two grandsons ranging from two to eighteen years old.

Treble Choir Conductor – Karen Hannahoe
A smiling woman with long blonde hair and glasses stands outdoors, with a blurred natural background.

Karen Hannahoe is the Choir Director at Nevin Platt Middle School in Boulder, Colorado. With more than twenty years of experience, she has honed her craft working specifically with middle school singers, creating programs that foster musical excellence, confidence, and a strong sense of community. Her ensembles have performed throughout Colorado and have been featured at the Colorado Music Educators Association (CMEA) Annual Conference.

Originally from Philadelphia, Ms. Hannahoe earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from James Madison University and her Master’s degree in Choral Education from the University of Colorado. She is a National Board Certified Teacher, reflecting her strong commitment to professional growth and student-centered teaching. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Hannahoe enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and finds inspiration in the outdoors through backpacking, skiing, and hiking. She believes strongly in the power of kindness and gratitude to create positive change—values that guide both her teaching and her life.

Treble Choir Accompanist – Kelly Meilstrup
headshot of Kelly Meilstrup

Kelly Meilstrup has been playing the piano since she was tall enough to toddle over to the piano and reach the keys. She earned a BA in music from Brigham Young University.

After moving to Longmont in 1996, she has had opportunities to perform with the Longmont Symphony Orchestra playing the celeste for The Nutcracker, with Timberline Symphony Orchestra performing Carnival of the Animals, and with Longmont Theatre Company accompanying shows such as The Music Man, The Mikado, and A Kingdom Asleep.

Kelly has accompanied the choirs at Longmont High School and has assisted with numerous middle school and elementary school choirs over the years. She is currently the choir accompanist at Westview Middle School. Kelly has accompanied District Honor Choir for over ten years.
