Counselors and interventionists, like other educators, need to take professional development for continued licensure. Please see below for professional development options. Please reach out to Human Resources regarding questions about your license or license renewal, and movement on the salary scale, or years of service.

ASCA U Professional Development Credit

• Register for and complete an ASCA U class
• Register for the corresponding SVVSD ASCA U OPD Class (you must pay for the class through OPD to receive credit)
• Complete this ASCA U form and upload a transcript or certificate
• 3.0 OPD credits will be post to your SVVSD OPD transcript
• Maura Brady McMullen will approve your credit; Amy Magyar (at OPD) will will award credit as long as payment has been made to OPD. Yes, you have to pay for the ASCA course and the OPD fee.

SVVSD Office of Professional Development Courses

• Counselors and interventionists are highly encouraged to create, and take, district OPD courses.
• Options include, but are not limited to, to creating book studies, professional study teams to look at solving a problem or creating best practices etc. Reach out to Amy Magyar at OPD if you have questions.
