Superintendent's Update - August 2016

Dear St. Vrain Valley Community,

This week, over 3,000 preschool and kindergarten students will enter a St. Vrain classroom and begin the educational journey that will shape their future. Each new school year marks an important milestone for every student who walks through our doors and gives perspective and clarity to the goals and opportunities that lie ahead.

In St. Vrain, we are starting the 2016-2017 school year on the heels of an amazing summer. Thousands of our students, teachers and staff engaged in rigorous learning and skill development in almost every building across the district. As we look forward to the next week, month, semester and year, I know that we will be successful in our mission to elevate public education for our children because of our commitment to advanced learning, drive for innovation and the unwavering support we receive from our community.

In this edition of The Newsroom, we highlight some of our summer successes, students making a difference in their community, answers to common questions about district operations, our new magazine publication, ST. VRAINNOVATION, and much more.

On behalf of all of our teachers and staff, welcome to the new academic year. Thank you for being a part of our community and supporting the continued success of every St. Vrain Valley student.

Don Haddad, Ed.D.
