Since moving to Niwot in 1997, Debbie has been involved in parent and community organizations and district committee assignments, including the 2002 bond task force and subsequent mil levy and bond measure campaigns. After her election to the Board of Education in 2009 she participated in Colorado Association of School Boards (CASB) activities and was elected by the statewide membership to its Board of Directors in 2012. She has testified before state capitol House and Senate committees regarding proposed legislation concerning school safety and school board policies. She is CASB’s representative on the Advisory Board of the State of Colorado’s School Safety Resource Center.

Debbie serves on the board of the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley. She was on the Niwot High School Education Foundation Board for a number of years and continues to serve on the City of Longmont’s Multicultural Action Committee.

The Lammers’ three children attended Niwot Elementary, Sunset Middle and Niwot High and benefitted from the academic, athletic, community and social opportunities they experienced. All are now college graduates embarking on professional opportunities and careers. Debbie’s husband Chris is an international telecommunications technology executive based in Louisville (CableLabs). Debbie enjoyed a long career as a paralegal and law firm administrator following her Bachelor of Arts degree from the California State University at Chico.  Both Debbie and Chris have been involved in a number of local non-profit organizations such as Habitat For Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley, Community Food Share, and United Way. Over almost 20 years of community, school and district involvement, Debbie has had the opportunity to talk with hundreds of St. Vrain residents, as well as many local and state officials, to inform her work and representation as a member of the Board of Education.
