Families and community members are invited to a free screening of Disney’s “Snowball Express” on Friday, November 13, at St. Vrain Valley Schools’ Innovation Center, 33 Quail Road in Longmont.
Hosted by the Innovation Center’s Creative Content Team, the event is part of the Colorado 150 Film Festival, celebrating Colorado’s 150th anniversary through films made in Colorado, about Colorado, or by Coloradans.
Disney’s family comedy follows Johnny Baxter, a New York accountant who moves his family to Colorado after inheriting a rundown hotel. His efforts to turn it into a ski lodge lead to snowy mishaps and a snowmobile race. The movie also has a Colorado connection behind the scenes: it was filmed in the Colorado Rockies, including a race sequence in Crested Butte. “Snowball Express” is rated G for general audiences.
The event runs from 5–7:30 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the screening begins at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Voluntary donations will support Creative Content Team students attending the Austin Film Festival’s Young Filmmakers Program, where they can participate in workshops, receive mentorship, and connect with film industry professionals.
Join the Creative Content Team for an evening of film and community while supporting opportunities for St. Vrain’s young filmmakers.
