Westview Middle School has been named a 2026 School of Distinction by The Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE), recognizing the school’s commitment to creating a student-centered environment grounded in best practices for middle grades education. They are the first and only Colorado middle school to be honored with this distinction.
AMLE’s Schools of Distinction program recognizes schools serving students ages 10-15 for their commitment to the middle grades best practices outlined in The Successful Middle School: This We Believe. The program also guides schools through a process of self-assessment and strategic vision setting to support continuous improvement.

To receive this prestigious, national recognition from AMLE is truly an honor and a strong validation of the students, staff, and community that make our work possible,” shared DJ Eipper, Westview Middle School Assistant Principal. “At its core, Westview is truly a student-centered school where every decision is grounded in what is best for students academically, socially, and emotionally. The school has created a culture in which students are not only expected to achieve at high levels but are also provided with the support, opportunities, and encouragement needed to do so.”
The recognition adds to Westview’s strong record of excellence in middle level education. The school is also a four-time Schools to Watch recipient from the Colorado Association of Middle Level Education (CAMLE).
Westview is proud to continue implementing middle level practices that help students develop as strong, caring, kind and intelligent learners while preparing them for success in high school and beyond.
