Crayons to Calculators continues to distribute thousands of backpacks filled with school supplies to students across the St. Vrain Valley.
With the ongoing partnership between the St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation and Impact on Education, the program will once again ease the financial burden on families in both districts throughout Boulder County and the surrounding communities. These efforts will ensure students have what they need to start the year off right.
In the past, the Crayons to Calculators program included community supply drives and hundreds of volunteers working together to fill backpacks for distribution for both school districts. Because of continued uncertainties during this time, rather than school supply drives, Crayons to Calculators is seeking monetary donations from businesses, organizations, and community members.
This year, Crayons to Calculators will be utilizing community financial contributions to provide 5,000 St. Vrain students with school supplies to support their learning. Backpacks and school supply kits scaled to grade levels will be purchased from a wholesale provider and delivered to schools around the district.
Again this year, the generous support from Western Disposal Services will provide half of Crayons to Calculators’ school supplies, the rest will be raised through community financial contributions. Our community members, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to participate in the Crayons to Calculators Community Challenge. The Community Challenge is a fun and easy way for you or your organization to show your support for Crayons to Calculators! The goal is to work with community partners, friends and neighbors to raise the funds necessary to purchase backpacks filled with school supplies.
