St. Vrain Valley Schools receives ASBO Certificate of Excellence for 22nd consecutive year

St. Vrain Valley Schools has once again been honored with the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO), marking the 22nd consecutive year the district has received this prestigious award. The recognition is based on the district’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025.
This award recognizes school districts that meet the highest standards for financial reporting and transparency. To qualify, applicants submit their ACFR for review by a team of financial professionals who evaluate the report’s content, accuracy, and overall quality.

For the third consecutive year, St. Vrain Valley Schools has received the Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) from the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International for its fiscal year 2025-2026 budget. This award recognizes the district’s commitment to clear, transparent, and high-quality budget presentation.

The Meritorious Budget Award acknowledges St. Vrain’s dedication to crafting budget documents that clearly communicate financial information to all stakeholders. A panel of school financial professionals reviewed the district’s submission to ensure compliance with ASBO International’s MBA Criteria Checklist and other requirements.

60 St. Vrain Valley incoming seniors attend cybersecurity mini-internships

About 60 St. Vrain Valley rising high school seniors are helping local businesses beef up their cybersecurity through a two-week, paid mini-internship program.

The students, in sessions held at Silver Creek and Skyline high schools this month, spend the morning learning about the The National Institute of Standards and Technology, or NIST, Cybersecurity Framework and hearing from those who work in cybersecurity. In the afternoons, they work in teams with businesses to to conduct security audits.
