Please join us for two important events as we celebrate milestones and share updates on our new PK-8 school in Mead, made possible by the community’s strong support in passing St. Vrain Valley Schools’ 2024 Bond.
Topping Out Ceremony
Thursday, August 28 | 4-5:00 p.m.
Mead PK-8 Construction Site: Located east of the Mead High School Stadium. The access road is located north of Mead High School off County Road 7. Parking is available in the temporary lot west of the softball fields, with ADA parking provided at the topping-out ceremony site. Please view the map for more details.
The topping out ceremony marks the placement of the final beam, completing the framework for this state-of-the-art learning environment. From 4:00-4:30 p.m., guests will have the opportunity to sign the beam and enjoy time with fellow community members and light refreshments. Remarks will follow from Superintendent Dr. Jackie Kapushion, Town of Mead Mayor Colleen Whitlow, and Principal Joshua Barnett. The ceremony will include a performance by the Mead Drumline and Unified Drumline and will conclude with the community gathering to witness the final beam being placed.
Your presence will celebrate the vision, hard work, and collaboration that have made this new exceptional school possible for Mead families and future generations.

We also invite you to engage further with the new Mead PK-8 at our upcoming community meeting. This will be an opportunity to learn more about the school, hear updates on hiring, explore the name, colors, and mascot selection process, discuss PTO formation, and provide feedback on preschool program options.
