St. Vrain Valley Schools awarded 2015 ‘Large Business of the Year’ by Carbon Valley Chamber of Commerce

On February 20th, the Carbon Valley Chamber of Commerce named St. Vrain Valley Schools the 2016 ‘Large Business of the Year’ at their annual appreciation dinner. Dr. Don Haddad, Superintendent of St. Vrain Valley Schools, accepted the award from Chamber board member and Business Development Officer for the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley, Lisa Hoxie.

Business Leaders Choose the Winner

The distinction is especially relevant since it was chosen by Carbon Valley business leaders. The award recognizes the district’s achievements and fiscal responsibility, as well as collaboration from the Board of Education, administrative team, teachers, staff, parents, elected officials and Carbon Valley communities.

Other nominees included American Furniture Warehouse, Ramey Environmental and Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation. The ten businesses nominated exhibit outstanding performance and are dedicated to giving back to the Carbon Valley and Tri-Town communities. Those communities include Firestone, Frederick and Dacono.

“The school district employs over 5,000 people, with hundreds employed in the Carbon Valley,” said Lisa Hoxie. “As the 7th largest district in the state and one of the top districts in the nation, the district’s footprint covers 411 miles, with over 70 locations and numerous business partners.”

The Carbon Valley Chamber of Commerce recognizes the St. Vrain Valley School System as a valued business partner in each of the Tri-Town communities it serves. Conversely, the district values and enriches the Carbon Valley by providing an educated workforce prepared for the 21st century’s highly competitive global market.
