Title: Learning in Motion

Presenter: Kim Bevill

Description: Learn about the extraordinary relationship between physical activity and the brain and how movement impacts academic achievement and behavior, as well as physical, emotional and social health. This workshop focuses on brain based research that supports the powerful effect of integrating movement into classroom content.

Dates: Teachers and administrators choose to attend one day from the following options:

  • Option #1: Free (Email Paige Jennings to register and attend for free)
  • Option #2: Participants can choose to pay $15 for 0.5 credit through the OPD that can be applied to re-licensure and lateral salary movement. (Register on the OPD website to pay $15 and earn credit)
  • Option #3: There is a limited amount of money available for stipends ($25 per hour). (Email Paige Jennings to register and receive a stipend - first come, first serve) (K-8 teachers only)

***Note: Teachers may NOT receive a stipend AND pay $15 for credit.

Bonus: Every K-8 teacher that attends will receive a set of classroom supplies and resources in the fall (i.e. juggling scarves, hotspots, bean bags, Fit Deck cards) to support the integration of movement into the classroom.
