Dignifying do-it-yourself for Longmont teen

Lyza Weisman calls her "bag of tricks" everything from pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose with the eraser end of a pencil to drinking through a straw — both simple tools that help her reach just above her shoulders near the ceiling of her upward range of motion.

Dear St. Vrain Valley Community,

For many of us, the end of the calendar year provides an opportunity to reflect on the previous year – our successes, challenges and the experiences that will continue to shape our future and the people who have had an impact on our lives. Some used the ScratchJr app on iPads, others used laptops to try programs offered through code.org. One popular program had them create stories and move people around by dragging and dropping commands.

Learning Technology Plan gives students – and teachers – tools to learn

In 2012, St. Vrain Valley voters passed a Mill Levy Override (MLO) that continues to advance and impact student learning across the district. Born from the 2012 MLO, the district’s nationally recognized Learning Technology Plan is putting powerful learning devices into the hands of students and teachers, enabling a higher level of collaboration and advanced, personalized learning.
