Superintendent's Update - December 2016

Dear St. Vrain Valley Community,

For many of us, the end of the calendar year provides an opportunity to reflect on the previous year – our successes, challenges and the experiences that will continue to shape our future and the people who have had an impact on our lives. For the students, teachers and staff of St. Vrain Valley Schools, 2016 will be remembered as a critical time in the further advancement of high-quality public education in our community.

In 2016, St. Vrain Valley Schools opened Colorado’s first P-TECH school, posted the highest ACT scores in the district’s history, welcomed 210 new educators, celebrated over 2,000 graduates who earned their diploma, demonstrated significant gains in student achievement and graduation rates, and championed the success of many All-State musicians, All-Conference/State athletes, Boettcher Scholars, National Merit Finalists and so many other outstanding students.

Additionally, through the continued support of our community, 2016 culminated in the passage of bond issue 3A. I cannot express enough the powerful impact your investment will have on our students, our economy and our community. Through your support,
we will ensure that every student continues to receive a rigorous world-class education that empowers their advancement in a complex, highly competitive globalized economy.

On behalf of everyone at St. Vrain Valley Schools, thank you for your continued support as we work together to build a stronger future. It is an honor and a privilege to continue serving a community that truly values public education and the success of our children.

Don Haddad, Ed.D.
Superintendent, St. Vrain Valley Schools
