Students get a back-stage pass to local tech companies at InspireU

In April, St. Vrain Valley high school students had the opportunity to go where few have gone before - behind the scenes at three of our region's top tech companies.

Regognizing that one of the best ways to find inspiration is to learn more about the world around you, Seagate Technologies, Workforce Boulder County and St. Vrain Valley Schools teamed up to create InspireU - a career exploration week for high school students. Students received tours, hands-on demosntrations and advice on STEM pathways and future career opportunities at Seagate Technologies, SparkFun and West Corporation.

"Exposing students to local corporations like Seagate aids in not only building our relationship with the community and the local school district, but also allows students to get a sneak-peek into the company via tours, product demos and direct interactions with our employees," said Krista McDonald, University Relations for Seagate Technologies. "By opening our doors to students, we also hope to open their minds to the possibilities a future STEM career presents. Making connections early means that we begin to inspire a future pipeline of talent for Seagate and other area tech organizations."
