Student Senate

About

The Student Senate is an after school club available to SVVSD high school students. The club exists to examine Colorado’s legislative process and provide student feedback on existing legislative proposals. We will meet prior to the 2019 legislative session to review the process in general. After the legislature convenes in January, we will meet bi-weekly to review and discuss actual legislation. Depending on the size of the club, we will either have small-group discussions, or we will implement the "rules of the Senate" and conduct mock debates exploring the merits and deficiencies of different proposals.

Please note:  We will continue accepting interested students throughout the year.  If you miss a meeting, or can't make all the meetings, that's okay.  All high school students are welcome to attend and please feel free to bring a friend.

Final Meeting

The final meeing will take place at the Colorado State Capitol, on Thursday, March 21.
